Stop drinking at once because the latest research shows it is more harmful than thought.Alcohol may be considered as a social evil but if taken in limits it a very good way to celebrate and belive it or not it does help a lot to straight many things. It is not tht one need alcohol to make friends but it always fun to have drink with a bunch of good friends, though in limits.Who says drinking always lead to a bad company or people who drink make a bad company. Dont generalize the things. My friend have been drinking for past 10 years or so. He never had been any embarrassment to anyone or made bad company for anyone.Like every other thing it also has aftermaths if taken beyond limits. But dont project as if people who drink are villains or make some mad company.
Too much drinking is bad, but if You know your capacity and you keep under it, then it's fine. That way you will have fun. After all there ain't no fun in gathering without drinks. we do it to pump everybody up. Else we will just around and do paradushanam. No enthusiasam or energy. but if bring in drinks we will have more energy and will do some. something at which we can laugh at or have fun.
Positive effects of drinking alcohol
1. a subjective sense of good health
2. better mental health on some indicators, such as reduced anxiety and depression, especially in response to stress.
3. better long-term cognitive functioning, usually measured in old age.
4. better work performance, measured in higher income
5. better work performance, measured in reduced absence or disability.
6. better social integration and adjustment.
Indeed, drinking successfully is one of a handful of controllable health behaviors that significantly contributes to overall physical and emotional well-being.According to my concept moderate consumption of alcohol is good .
Drinking a tradition? Well its a good question you have raised. I guess there is nothing wrong for drinking being a part of any tradition. Many of the civilzed society has been doing very fine with drinking being a part of their civilization. The examples can be cited as follows
:
1) Drinking wine is a tradition of France. And this I guess is known to the world that France produce the best wine.
2) Scotch from Scotland. People say you don't need to go to Scotland to feel it, you just need to taste its Scotch. The essence of Scotland can be found in Scotch.
3) Drinking Osake (Japanese rice beer) is a part of Japanese culture. The entire family, right from the young one to the old drink the same. A son serves drinks to father and father to son and its really a fun together.
4) Drinking Mai Zau (Bodo rice beer) is part of Bodo culture.
I would say there is nothing wrong in drinking, but how you behave after drinking is the million dollar question. A gentleman attitude is required. Moreover if you are in corporate world, a non drinker appears to be like an outcast in parties, so its better to tune yourself with little amount of drinks rather than being an outcaste.
Almost all drugs contains alcohol, so directly or indirectly you consume alcohol. But explicitly having a habit of drinking is absolutely wrong. There are many things which are not written in the Bible in black and white but we should diligently find out from the word of God to get an answer.Bible says that "If you know that you can do some good and you don't do it then it becomes sin for you."
And drinking is an obsession.Pahetic things happend by drunkards but occasionally it's fine.when someone wants to enjoy, this is best choice. But when you are drunk need to be controlled or else be alone.Never bother anyone, never argue, never drive, never speak with elders.whatever heavy drinking is very bad,it can damage a person's health and his prestige.
"Drink,Drink and Drink,
But only if you know what it does to you..
I believe,"Life is but once!"
So,Drink,Fag,anything but once and in limits!
