Charles Darwin explained very well the existence of humans by means of evolution. Darwin's Theory has been understood and accepted everywhere. Darwin's general theory presumes that the complex creatures are evolved naturally from the simple ancestors and this process is still going on from years together.
About Charles Darwin
Charles Darwin, a British scientist of 19th century. From a young age, Darwin disliked going to school. He always preferred watching animals and birds. He was sent to medical school in Scotland but he was not fascinated by medical studies and decided to leave the school. Late he studied natural history and was chosen as naturalist. Charles Darwin is the first person who proposed the theory of evolution and this theory is supported by Natural Selection.
Theory of Evolution mentions that all the living things are evolved from other living species and their roots are in other species who came before them.
Natural Selection means the way living spices adapt themselves to the environmental changes in order to survive. The phrase called 'survival of the fittest' best suits to the natural selection. It means if a person adapts himself to the changes he can survive and those who cannot will die.
What is evolution?
Evolution is the inherited changes in the successive biological generation. It is a genetic mutation which occurs in genetic code- DNA and RNA. The beneficial mutated genes are preserved because they are survived , this process is natural selection. This mutated genes pass from generation to generation. Over the time of years this beneficial mutated genes accumulate and form completely different organisms.
Theory of Evolution
The Theory of Evolution is the most intellectual revolution in human kind which changed the perception of all living species.
Darwin was a naturalist and hence he had great knowledge of plants and animals. He was greatly influenced by the observation made by him on Galapagos Island. Galapagos are formation of 16 islands . These islands were formed millions of years ago but due to volcanic activity there was not a single life present. The only species surviving there was Marine Iguana which is a type of lizard in the world. During that time Darwin thought if there is not even single animal or plants able to survive then how come these Iguana survived and from where did they come from? Other reptiles like Marine Iguana also came to these islands. These reptiles could survive for the longer time without food or water. Suppose if there are many such Iguana who had no food due to any reason. Out of so many reptiles if one could swim better , hold on to the rock and find food from somewhere would become more stronger and would survive longer as compared to others. This would led to more reproduction of these species. From this observation Darwin came to an idea of Natural Selection or Survival of fittest.
Darwin's Theory is based on 5 observations they are -
1) Species (living beings) have great capacity of reproduction and has great fertility.
2) Resources of food will be limited but will also be constant most of the time.
3) The difference in population is very negligible, it remains almost the same.
4) No two individuals are same, there are variations between them.
5) The variations are inherited.
From the above observation he came to a conclusion that in so much of population , every individual must struggle to survive but the best one will only survive. The desirable traits from the survival will be passed to their offspring and thus it passes to all the generation and ultimately becomes the dominant characteristics. This is natural selection.
