We lost our tradition
Most of us have been brought up without much exposure to our glorious history and tradition. What’s sad is that some people pay utmost attention to trivial things in the name of tradition, while the true meaning and principles behind those traditions have been long lost.
We have a shameful mentality of accepting something from our own culture, only after the west approves of it. The yoga craze today would b a good example for this. In those days yoga was a way to feel God. But today, foreigners practice it as some kind of relaxation exercise, and we are just following it saying it’s for stress-relief.
Even the great achievers of our land have faced the same situation. Imagine what would have happened to Ramanujam had he not been recognized by Mr.Hardy of cambridge university. Or if us want to consider more recent events, how many knew of Mr.Amartya Sen before he got the Nobel?
Its really bad that even after developing so much, a part of our population considers 'foreign' certifications as a requirement to appreciate something. Blindly accepting western culture is bad enough. But having them tell us the greatness of our own culture and history is just pathetic.
The only problem with the youth of today is they are more attracted to western culture..it’s like musk deer searching for musk which it itself owns. who are there to teach us our prosperous history!!
Who are there to usher us to the vibrant tradition. Who is there to look back? No its not looking back.
Its like looking forward beholding the most powerful eyes. We lost our eyes!
