Consciousness
Consciousness is a state where the mind is 100% active. It is when the mind possesses the complete observing, judging, contemplating, referring to ones schema, assessing, reasoning, and finally deciding.
Consciousness is awareness manifest. Consciousness is that when we take out the crap of monsters and behave like a human being and do something humanly. Consciousness can be considered as a state at which our whole body responds to the obstacles around it.
A human is said to be in unconscious state, if he forgets or keeps the surroundings out of view and does not respond to the surroundings.
Consciousness is not a state. It is something which is always there. Read that great saints and sages are able to feel the consciousness in them and people around always.
It is one thing that always exists. It is not bound by time which is what a state means. It is not possible to be aware of something, but not conscious of that, or of the results of that action?
We are conscious on our sleep, because in our dreams it`s proven the human brain acts 100% active, he does everything you mentioned, except it`s working faster, and sometimes your perceptions change, but still you would be conscious by your definition, but surely you`re not always aware.
The relation I can grasp between dream and subconscious are those moments when you know you have dreamed, but can`t remember what it was. All other dreams are related to consciousness, as they become part of our mind, and so, of our awareness.
The brain becomes 100% active at the specific moment of dreaming, maybe 100% is too much, but if you ask any neurologist he will tell you the moment we dream our brain is working his butt out.So we are not really conscious and the proof will come only when you wake up, then, you will be aware and conscious..
Putting simpler, by the definition you gave the moment we dream we are conscious, but the real conscious will come not during the dreaming, but after waking up. for then you`ll have the real perspective.
