It is very discouraging that our players win few gold medals at the Olympic Games. Government should frame a national policy in this regard. Party politics should cease to exist in the national interest. Our government must feel its duty to help the athletes both financially and technically to kindle their interest. Today we find that games and sports are not free from all pervasive corruption. Cases like match fixing have been found. Our government and sponsors put a lot of money on these competitions. Also public confidence lives in the players. Hence the players must rise above all selfish motives and play for their nation’s sake. Government should take stern action against people involved in corruption.
