A lonely world isolated from everyone to blossom even the creative ideas! Already many innovative ideas have taken birth in bathroom including Archimedes principle. Why not! It’s a zone of relaxation too, where one remains himself leaving behind everything.

Now closets are available with a lot of designs and lovely colour shades. Convenient use, colours and shades – closets have witnessed sparkling changes in the recent decades.
Closets can be fixed in walls now
Latest trend is wall mounted closet and concealed flush tank. Now Indian style closets have lost their charm. European closets fixed on floor have become a part of yesterdays! Easiness to clean floor, a lot of space saved and a charm in view – wall mounted closets have a lot of peculiarities. Now coupled pieces with separated closet and flush tank are available.
Concealed flush is placed within wall. So, tank is not budging out, saving a lot of space. Only the flush button to flush water is visible outside. In old models of concealed flush tanks, we had to break the whole wall to take the flush tank out in case a repair was needed. Cover plate was so small, that caused the problems. Concealed flush tanks now available are with big cover plates that can be pulled out easily. Attractive models with steel or chromium plated with buttons are available now. It uses less amount of water and ‘dual flushing system’ is used in this model. Water closet and flush tank as single unit – mono piece type closet is also available, but they needed to be fixed on floor.
White is everyone’s favourite
Though closets are available in wide range of colours white is most popular. There are many leading brands that produce white closets only. White colour is royal and simple and it suits with any colour tiles and other bathroom accessories. It gives a ‘broad bathroom’ feel too. Earlier everyone used to choose dark colours so that dirt is not visible easily. Now everyone wants to see the dirt and other impurities clearly so that they can keep it neat and clean; same as the latest trend of using light colour tiles on floors.
Now closets of irregular geometric shapes are also available, that does not follow a fixed structure or shape. Square and semicircle shapes are among those irregular shapes. They are simple designs too, that fit in every bathroom.
Starting prize of Indian made wall mounted closet is 10,000, though it varies for different brands. You will be surprised to know that imported closets in the prize range 12,000 – 4 lakh rupees are also available. Non-branded European style closets are available in 2,000 rupees and Indian closets in 700 rupees.
Partitioning is the latest trend
Neat and tidy bathroom is the indicator of health of family members. Now wet and moisture filled bathrooms have disappeared from the scenes. Modern bathrooms have two areas – dry area and wet area. Dry area is completely dry and hence a separation is needed between these two areas in modern bathrooms.
Idea of partitioning bathroom into two areas is economical if you use aluminum frame with tefant glass. Putting shower curtains and building half wall also come under cheap strategies to divide wet area and dry area. Slightly elevating dry area from wet area is another nice suggestion that can be attained in cheap cost.
If you can afford the expenses and are planning to construct a luxurious bathroom, you can use shower cubicle and shower enclosure in your modern hi-tech bathroom. Showers, separate taps for hot and cold water and body jets to spray water on your body are enclosed within a glass jar to get shower enclosure. It can be fixed in any corner of your bathroom. Shower cubicles are a little more luxurious. They are available in different models. They vary in prizes according to their specifications.
Open bathrooms is another trend where you can enjoy rain bath during rainy season. In the open area you can fix grill or pergola. If glass or polycarbonate sheets are used as roof you can enjoy bath under open sky. It invites a lot of sunlight inside your bathroom too.
You can place pebbles in dry area and plant a few green plants too. You can also decorate it with some decorative items. You should arrange separate drainage for both wet area and dry area.
Lighting for your bathroom
CFL is best for bathrooms. You can provide ambient lighting using florecent lights. But it adds extra electric bills. Yellow lamp is another option. You can fit a lamp near wash basin, just above the mirror. You can use a few decorative lamps in your bathroom if you want to make it luxurious. If your bathroom has vast area, you can give different lights to different locations in different intensity.
Doors for your bathroom
Now wooden doors for bathrooms have already vanished. Processed wood and PVC are the best choices. The floor of bathroom should be slightly below the normal height of your bedroom. If so, water won’t get flushed out while bathing. Also it’s a nice idea not to place shower in front of the bathroom door.
In the recent times, taps have also witnessed great revolutions – from sensor taps to foaming taps and from two way taps to hand showers. Now taps have become a showpiece to exhibit the luxury of a home and its bathroom.
