All of us know the importance of certain basic disciplines to be followed in day to day life in the interests of our health. Some of the things we were taught early in our lives are brushing tooth, taking bath, changing clothes and socks on daily basis. Some follow this religiously as they consider it is part of their routine while some follow this in the interests of their health. Others enjoy doing things like taking a hot water or cold water bath as it gives them a feeling of pleasure or a feeling of freshness. On the other hand there are also some others due to sheer laziness or lack of time do not believe in performing this activities on a daily basis while some do not do so since they are not habituated or do not have any discomfort by not performing these activities. However if you look from a different angle things like brushing tooth, taking bath on a daily basis are a requirement especially in the interest of people with whom we interact with like our colleagues.
Brushing Tooth atleast once in a day:- The importance of brushing teeth need not be elaborated as we are well aware of the possible side effects of not keeping our teethclean. People who chew lot of items like pan parag which gives bad smell should make special efforts to keep their tooth clean and people who consume alcohol should be extra concerned and worried about their teeth. Those who interact with people with unclean teeth are more in a disadvantageous position as they have to directly inhale the smell of alcohol and foul smell emanating from other particles especially if they are required to speak face to face and from close quarters.
Taking Daily Bath:- One of the most enjoyable things in the world is taking bath. Some enjoy taking cold water bath while some take hot water bath and in any of those cases it gives lot of enjoyment to a person. Others take bath as they consider it as important in their health as bathing removes all sweat and other dirt from the body. Some people due to lack of time or lack of interest or due to sheer laziness avoid taking bath on daily basis. Some people take a half bath by avoiding taking a head bath as it takes extra time for them to finish their bath and dry their hair. If a person who is not accustomed to taking daily bath, has to share a auto or a mode of transport with his colleagues, then it he gives really bad smell. If a auto is shared by three people of which one is not accustomed to bathing daily, then it becomes really difficult for others to bear the smell because all of them are required to sit very close to each other.
Changing Clothes on Daily Basis:- The importance of bath has been mentioned above. If a person wears the same clothes he has worn the previous day after taking the bath, then the bath is considered incomplete. Clothes pick up lot of external dirt and much more internally by absorbing sweat from the body. If a person wears a shirt in the morning and looks at the collar of the shirt in the evening, then he can see the collar coloured in brown and that itself is an indication as how much sweat is absorbed in clothes. If one keeps the collar of the shirt near his nose he can feel the smell. Sometimes in workplaces colleagues share a affectionate hug while showing a happiness on an achievement. A hug is shared on a mere instinct, because no one botherswhether the person is wearing a sweat soaked shirt and therefore it becomes the duty of people to change clothes on a daily basis so that people who interact with them need not share the dirt as a punishment.
Changing Socks on daily basis:- Many people have a tendency to wear the same socks for a week or so. A pair of socks generates more bad smell than any other clothes worn by a person. A normal person need not put the socks near to his nose to feel the smell of socks as he can feel the smell even if the socks are kept far away from his nose. One can well imagine what would be the smell of socks if worn by a person who sweats a lot. When a person is invited in functions or called as guest in others homes, he has to leave the shoes and socks near the entrance of the house. If a pair of half a dozen socks are kept in a portion of a house one can feel the smell if a person passes through than area without trying to feel the smell.
One should always keep their tooth clean, take bath on daily basis and change clothes and socks more in the interests of people with whom we interact with than in our own interests. The basic point is that others should not suffer because of our unclean habits. Once we take care of others health by keeping ourselves clean we automatically benefit by being healthy.
