OUR BLOOD ASSOCIATION
I am very happy to share about out blood association in our city.
The Blood Association is named as ATB [Any Time Blood Donors Association]. It is in Coimbatore [Tamil Nadu]. The Head of our Association is Mr.Kousik who is working in Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore. He runs this association for more than three years. I am very proud to be a part of ATB. Thousands of blood donors are available under ATB. We as a part of ATB never hesitate to donate blood whenever we are called for. It is a Social Service Association and we do not expect anything from the acceptors.
Our Association is very familiar in our area and our Head Mr.Kousik has participated in the interviews help by local Channels. There is a Website called www.Indianblooddonors.com where you can thousands of blood donors in and around Tamil Nadu.
Many people are still unaware of blood donation and its importance. The blood once given is automatically secreted by the Red Blood Corpuscles within 48 hours from the time of blood donation. Hence there is no harm in giving blood to the needy. The blood donation camps are also held by some of the hospitals. They mostly visit Colleges and villages and create awareness to them.
The College going Students also actively participate in NSS CAMPS where they speak about the significance of blood donation to the illiterate people of villages and create awareness among them.
One of the Statistics says for every 5 second in our country required blood. So every one should realize the importance of blood donation and donate blood actively. The only Eligibility for blood donation is that he should be 50 kg and above and belong to the age group between 18-60. It can be donated for every 6 months once. No harm is going to happen to us. So we are not going to loose anything by donating our blood, we are only receiving blessings from the acceptor and a new blood is formed in our body.
Therefore finally I conclude by saying “The blood present in our body is to give for others, not to save for the future generation.” If any of the readers are in Coimbatore and in any case if they require blood they can contact our ATB Head Mr.Kousik – 91-9894395495.
