A 16-minute film with no structured plot. Luis Bunuel's directorial debut. An experimental film, which probably meant that I was never going to get it. From whatever I have read, this films deals with surrealism, dream analysis, psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud, etc. Probably why I do not see the films from directors who make something on surrealistic themes. You don't get it; but the critics hail it.

first of all wht animations man....superb....
the first 10 min of the movie are so so beautiful nd makes ur intrest in the movie so much that u begin to xpect too much from it...then the midd part of the movie slides a litte..i.e after elley dies....but soon picks up nd the post half part is again superb...loved the ideas of the dogs .... they were super...

Plot
: By tying thousands of balloon to his home, 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America. Alpha Bravo Charlie - 1998
Its not a movie, Its a Pakistani TV serial made in late 90's directed by Shoaib Mansoor ( Khuda Kay Liye), possibly the most popular show in recent history of Pakistan. I don't know how many ppl here in this community know about this serial, but it is about three friends who join army and how afterwards their life changes.
It isn't Anti-anything .. its just a struggle of these three friends trying to adapt a military lifestyle shown as realistically as possible. If i ever have to count reasons to be proud of being a Pakistani, this show would be one of them. I love this show.
It is hilarious, sad at times and inspiring. Maybe i am being biased, can't help it though. Re-watching it for the third time.

Bloody brilliant is all i can say .. i laughed my guts out .. It never stopped, one thing after another, I wish it never ended.
The beginning was more hilarious .. in the end it did get a bit tragic which is a good thing else it would have been a single tracked journey. No complains from the movie whatsoever. Loved every bit of it.

(500) Days of a Summer is a rare cinematic experience-it is a brilliant film. It is not the atypical boy meets girl and they fall in love romantic story.In fact it is a coming-of-age story masquerading as a romcom. It is not a full blown love story but yet it manages to charm the audience by its simplicity and the emotions that it tries to convey through meaning of life,relationships etc.
"(500) Days of Summer” is the story of Tom Hansen (Mr. Gordon-Levitt), a sensitive but emotionally unformed greeting card writer who is bedazzled by Summer Finn (Ms. Deschanel), a pale, radiant dream girl who works as a secretary at his office. The movie opens at the end of their relationship, rewinds to the beginning, then ricochets among various points in the year and a half that Tom’s every waking thought is of Summer.The structure of the film is also way cool as we shuffle through Tom’s 500 days of loving Summer in random order. Just like we often remember our own broken love stories. Oftentimes remembering the good days more than the bad.
It’s always the girls who fall hard and who need to wake up from their unlived life, and falling in love with the "right" guy is what does the trick. She now has the courage to let her hair down and quit her thankless job. In this film all these rules are broken, and it’s the “wrong girl” who gets the guy to do all of these things... which is what makes this film funny, honest and refreshing.

The performances and the chemistry between the lead actors is so great that one would love to see them perform in another film together again.Joseph Gordon Levitt,carries off his role very well and exudes the kind of warmth and charm necessary for his character-he definitely has a bright future ahead of him.Zooey Deschanel(the girl in Yes Man) well she is not only beautiful but can act as well-this girl is sure to melt the hearts of many viewers and by her sheer screen presence where she manages to really gel well together with her co-star. Remember this film is not the conventional love story per se,yet the way she essays her role is remarkable.In short,you wont get to meet girls like Summer who has a different take to the meaning of love and relationships.
This is definitely one of this year's best films certainly in terms of slice of life,coming of age,romantic comedies. You wont get to see such different romcoms in your life-dont go with any mindset or expectations and enjoy the ride like I did.
