Pharmacy is related to medicine and drug. After passing the twelve standards the students can take admission in Pharmacy. In Pharmacy field there are total three courses a) Diploma in Pharmacy b)Degree in Pharmacy c)Master Degree in Pharmacy , Apart from those you can opt for Ph.D and even Post Doc.
Diploma in Pharmacy - The course comprises of about 2 years and after that 3 months training. The student has to pass the 12th standard in Science stream to get admission in this course. Here after the course you can open your own licensed retail shop. There are opportunities of Govt Pharmacist Jobs also.
Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy- The course is of four years which is known as B.Pharm or B.Pharmacy. Here students have to get 50% in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) to take admission in Bachelor in this course. For Government college one has to clear the Joint entrance examination to take admission in this course, though in Private colleges they takes by marks basis.
Here there is scope for getting Marketing Representative Jobs in Multinational Medicine Companies. In Govt diploma colleges one can work as demonstrator and can get job as Drug Inspector post.
Master Degree in Pharmacy- Here mainly by GATE exam, the admission been taken, in Private though they takes admission by their own entrance system. Here at least you have to score 50% in B.pharm. After M.Pharm there is large scope , one can work as lecturer in Pharmacy colleges, if anyone is interested to work in Companies, they can work in research and development or in Product development.
After Master degree one can go for Ph.D or Post Doc in foreign countries also.
