Many questions arise about what will happen in the next century. What developments will be made and upto which our country would progress and the most important what are the major problems that we will have to be tackled in the 21st Century.
In my view, in the next century India would become one of the most populous nations. Most of the people educated as well as uneducated will remain unemployed because many such machines will be invented which will do the work of 40 to 50 people.
Big factories will be out, generating power at homes will be in Rural areas will be as comfortable as the cities.
By the middle of the next century, buildings will have P.V. paneled rooftops that will be integrated with the buildings and be capable of taking loads and providing strength like today's steel, quick and mortar roof. These panels will collect solar energy and store it in highly efficient and light weight batteries for the entire the day. The automobiles will run on electricity because petroleum would be exhausted.
The houses, factories and other institutions will be computerized. Students would have personal mini computers instead of books. There will be air buses which will make travel easy and quick.
There will be lot of population and no trees, there will be oxygen purifiers in each house to purify the air. The buildings will have about 200 to 300 storeys and there would be schools, offices and departmental stores in the same building. In the season of January and February the temperature would go to 30 to 40 degree. People go to other planets for their vacations.
For combustion purposes such as household cooking, LPG and natural gas will give way in countries like India, to gas produced from coal.
Human clones would be developed and there will be all chaos and confusion. Scientists are developing machines which can be used for the destruction of the whole world or cities and a large mass of population, thus endangering the very existence of human life on this earth.
There will be fights between different countries. There are chances of a world war also. As the global economy grows, pressure on the earth's natural systems and resources intensifies. Due to global warming many countries will sink in the ocean.
Therefore, in the coming century we will need to inculcate an ecological world view of our ancestors as they were capable of understanding their relationship with the earth and adapting to it which we no longer seem to do in the 21st Century.
