it  may  either  follow  molecular  death  of  the  surface  epithelium  or its  traumatic   removal

but   the  ulcer   may   take   turn   towards   chronicity

if  the  trauma   continuos  that  means  traumatic  agent  persists

eg:dental  ulcer   of  the TONGUE diabetes  may  lead   to   ulcer  formation

  DURATION:syphilis  INCUBATION  PERIOD  IS   3  TO  4  weeks

pain:ulcer  associated  with   inflammation  only  be  painful

syphilitic  ulcers  and  trophic   ulcers  associated   with   nerve   diseases  such  as  tabes   dorsalis,peripheral  neuritis

tuberculous  ulcers  are   slightly  painful

ulcers   from   malignant   diseases   are  not  at  all   painful

tabes  dorsalis  syringomyelia   may  result  an  ulcer
